A new year invites reflection. It’s a natural moment to ask meaningful questions: How am I showing up for my community? Where can my experience make a difference? What does leadership look like in this next chapter?
For many women, especially those with a background in service, January brings clarity around purpose. The desire to stay engaged does not disappear when a role ends or a season changes. Instead, it often grows stronger.
Service doesn’t end. Lead where it matters most.
CIVIC LEADERSHIP STARTS LOCALLY
Civic leadership is not reserved for elected officials or those seeking the spotlight. In reality, some of the most impactful leadership happens close to home, on school boards, nonprofit boards, community committees, and in the everyday conversations that shape how decisions are made.
Local leadership requires understanding how systems work, where influence lives, and how to engage productively with others who may not always agree. It also requires the confidence to ask better questions, participate thoughtfully, and step forward when leadership is needed.
This kind of leadership is not about politics. It’s about responsibility, service, and strengthening the communities we care about.
A CLEAR PATH FOR WOMEN READY TO LEAD
The Civic Leadership Program at The Policy Circle was created for women who want a practical, structured way to engage civically and lead locally.
The program equips women with:
- A clear understanding of how civic systems function
- Tools to evaluate policy and local issues thoughtfully
- Confidence to participate in leadership conversations
- A community of women committed to service and responsibility
The Spring cohort runs from February 1 through April 30, offering a defined timeline and a supportive structure that fits into busy lives. Participants move through the experience together, building clarity and confidence alongside a trusted peer network.
CONTINUING SERVICE FOR MILITARY AND VETERAN WOMEN
For military and veteran women, leadership is already part of who you are. The question is often how to translate that experience into meaningful engagement in civilian life and local communities.
The Civic Leadership Program provides a pathway for continued service, one that respects prior experience while offering clarity around civic leadership. Women like Robin Littau, Tiffany Orner, and Kimberly Moros have used the program to step into local leadership roles, support their communities, and engage thoughtfully in civic life without losing sight of their values.
This next chapter does not require starting over. It builds on the leadership you already bring.
MAKE CIVIC LEADERSHIP PART OF YOUR NEW YEAR
As you consider your goals for the year ahead, civic leadership may be the resolution that aligns most closely with your values and experience. Leading locally creates lasting impact, strengthens communities, and ensures that thoughtful voices are present where decisions are made.
If this resonates, the Civic Leadership Program offers a meaningful place to begin.
Enrollment for the Spring cohort is open through January 25.
The program begins February 1st.
