Earlier this summer, we officially launched something we’ve dreamed about for a long time. Whether through local Circles or at national events, we’ve experienced firsthand how sparking conversations and connections can lead to impactful civic engagement. It was clear there needed to be a place where members could continue their Circle conversations year-round and experience similar discussions on a national scale.
That led us to start The Policy Circle Community. The Community is a brand-new online platform designed for our members to engage with like-minded women nationwide and inspire others to take action in their local communities. It’s also a one-stop shop for Circle Leaders to manage their Circles, schedule meetings, and keep their members informed.
The Community has already become a dynamic hub where members are sharing ideas and inspiring one another to take action in their own communities. Inside, you’ll find women exchanging insights on policy, discussing leadership experiences, and learning from one another.
What Members Are Saying in The Community
We’ve seen some great conversations since opening the doors to our engaged members in June.
Here’s a look at what members are saying inside the Community:
“One of the best things about this conversation thread is that it helps not only further educate us on issues but also broadens our perspective and improves our ability to consider alternative opinions, even if our own remain unchanged.” Melinda O.
“Those are thoughtful and important questions. They reflect the exact kind of leadership and curiosity needed when navigating structural government changes. Having worked in local government in Illinois (which has townships) and I now live in Florida studying its model, I’ve seen firsthand both the value and the friction points of township-level governance.” Deb W.
“Oh my goodness!!! All amazing and thoughtful feedback! I am so thankful for your feedback and experience. It opens the door for more ideas that I need to do some homework on!” Jamee L.
“This is an inspiration. For years, I’ve had a dream to write a book and it’s been placed on a shelf while life and my career have taken priority. This gave me another little nudge to pull it back off.” Lindsay H.
These quotes show exactly the thoughtful, encouraging space we hoped to build… and we’re just getting started!
Unique Member Content
This platform also allows us to engage with our members in new and unique ways. By providing members-only resources and first looks at upcoming Policy Circle briefs, insights, and events, we can help strengthen the membership experience. We can also get real-time feedback from our members, which can help shape our work and ensure that we’re providing information that you want to know.
