Two Opportunities for the Young People in Your Life

By The Policy Circle Team

The ability to pause, go beyond the headlines, and truly develop your own opinions is crucial when engaging in public policy dialogue. Policy Circle Leaders recognize the power of changing the conversation simply by starting one. That’s why we are excited to share two opportunities for the college students in your life: The Network of Enlightened Women — Young Women’s Leadership Retreat and the Institute for Humane Studies Summer Sessions.

Be proactive and start the conversation with the young women — and men –, in your life.

Young Women’s Leadership Retreat

The NeW Young Women’s Leadership Retreat prepares and inspires high school and college women to be effective leaders as they face the cultural and political landscapes of their college campuses. Attendees hear from a variety of speakers and connect with NeW Alumnae, mentors, and peers. The students selected to attend the retreat will develop skills to help them thrive academically and personally, all while having fun and building friendships with other talented and motivated women in the NeW network.

The 2018 Young Women’s Leadership Retreat will be held from July 26th through July 29th at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, PA.

Applications are due by April 8, 2018!

IHS Summer Seminars

The Institute for Humane Studies believes the principles of the classical liberal tradition – including individual liberty and responsibility, limited government, economic freedom, the rule of law, free speech, and open inquiry – are the foundation of a just and prosperous world.

Week-long Summer Seminars are open to undergraduate students, recent graduates, and graduate students in North America and the United Kingdom. Strong applicants are individuals seeking to learn more about classical liberal ideas, have an interest in a career in academia, and possess critical thinking skills, which are essential to a rigorous discussion of these ideas.

The Foundations of Liberty, June 23-29, 2018 and The Future of Liberty, June 16-22, 2018 will take place at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, PA.

The Frontiers of Liberty, July 14-20, 2018 will be held at Davidson College in Charlotte, NC.

The deadline to submit an application is May 1, 2018.

It’s a movement!

Recommend a Circle Leader.  Especially in California,  Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Michigan, Kansas and Arizona where circles are sprouting.

Start a Circle in your community. Your community may be your profession or your neighborhood, or both. Grow professionally, The Policy Circle is a simple way to practice the language of leaders with the facts and the space to be at ease with weighing in on the impact of policy.

Invest in The Policy Circle. Together let’s build a network of women who want to be part of the dialogue on the impact of policy in their lives.

The Policy Circle is a 501(c)3 that provides a fact-based, nonpartisan framework built to inspire women living in the same community to connect, learn about and discuss economic policies that impact their lives.  Women across the nation are taking a leadership role in the public policy dialogue on what human creativity can accomplish in an open economy.
