The Policy Circle informs and equips women to be more effective and impactful civic leaders. We do this through a variety of programs that educate members on the impact of public policy and highlight specific ways that women can take ownership of solutions in their communities.



Position: Director of Programs

The Policy Circle seeks a Director of Programs that possess excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong organization-building experience. If you are equal parts creative, relational and strategic – this is the role for you. An average day will include brainstorming new ways to engage existing members, ensuring top-notch execution of educational programming and communicating initiatives to grassroots leaders.  

The Director of Programs is responsible for creating and leading programs that will expand The Policy Circle membership and drive local engagement through volunteer-led regional councils.  

This individual embraces change, and thrives in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Our organization prizes individual initiative and collaborative problem solving.  The Director of Programs is able to communicate effectively with educated, thoughtful women who care about their communities and believe in family, faith, education and entrepreneurial values.

This position reports to the Executive Director and will build/lead a team focused on expansion and engagement through programs, membership services and grassroots initiatives. 

Preferred Experience & Knowledge Base 

  • A proven relationship builder who quickly connects with people from all walks of life and understands how to recruit and inspire volunteer leaders
  • Track record of creating and executing nonprofit or member-oriented programs/initiatives to scale an organization and increase engagement
  • Excellent grasp of marketing principles with strong written communication skills with the ability to make objectives and goals clear to a wide range of audiences
  • Solid understanding of the impact of public policy on behaviors  is needed to drive engagement of  volunteer regional leaders, members and regional think tanks/policy-oriented partners
  • Enthusiastic public speaker with ability to inspire and educate

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with The Policy Circle leadership team to develop and execute programs for members, leaders and regional volunteer councils
  • Create and execute strategic plan to boost engagement of 10k+ community
  • Develop & execute strategy to leverage The Policy Circle CRM to track and score member engagement 
  • Create and execute strategic plans to expand the reach and impact of The Policy Circle, including lead management
  • Design and host virtual meetings, and plan annual regional events with state leadership councils 
  • Conduct surveys of to gather feedback and improve programming 
  • Lead and build team that includes membership manager and leadership manager and other contractors
  • Oversight of departmental budget

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference given to candidates holding advanced degrees
  • CRM/Salesforce
  • Google Office Suite
  • Zoom / Virtual Event Platforms
  • Travel – 15-20%

Salary/Hours/Status/Location

  • $100-125k annually with generous benefits package worth $20k* 
  • 40 hours a week
  • Contractor for a 3 month trial period. If performance expectations are met, a full-time offer may be extended. 
  • Fully remote – will provide allowance for technology*

Position: Digital Marketing & Communications Manager

The Policy Circle is seeking a highly organized, creative and innovative team member to boost engagement  through social media, digital campaigns, branding and innovative storytelling.  The qualified candidate is highly skilled using various platforms and is constantly seeking to identify and adopt new technologies and best practices to streamline and strengthen The Policy Circle’s communication efforts.  An entrepreneurial mindset and meticulous attention to detail are essential. 

Responsibilities 

  • Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral including reports, decks and proposals
  • Serve as project manager for all internal communication requests/projects (includes vendor, printer, and video production management)
  • Build and manage Communication Calendar
  • Manage social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), creating templates and unique designs for all platforms to boost engagement (content to be provided by Director of Policy  & Communications)
  • Build email templates via Constant Contact & manage Campaigns
  • Serve as Pardot Administrator
  • Launch & manage vendor(s) for SEO & advertising campaigns (eg. social media, digital advertising via Google Ads) 
  • Monitor website behavior using Google Analytics 
  • Ensure projects are completed with excellence, accuracy and on schedule (able  to work on multiple projects at once and manage tight deadlines)
  • Ensure all print and digital assets are on brand and comply with brand guidelines
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Certification in graphic arts, design, marketing, communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in graphic design, creative management, social media management, digital marketing
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
  • Familiarity with email templates using Constant Contact, MailChimp, Pardot & Salesforce
  • Working knowledge of either Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Canva
  • Experience managing social media accounts, tracking tags/mentions and running reports to track engagement 
  • Working knowledge of SEO, digital marketing best practices and familiarity with various tools/platforms
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy

Salary/Hours/Status/Location

  • $4,500 – $6,000 per month depending on experience with generous benefits package worth $20k* 
  • 35-40 hours a week 
  • Contract for 3 month trial period. If performance expectations are met, a full-time offer may be extended. 
  • Fully remotely – will provide allowance for technology*

Position: Policy Writer & Researcher

The Policy Circle is looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, and diligent writer and researcher to assist us with research, analysis, and drafting written materials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and data-driven with superb research and writing skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and track and analyze legislation, news, and content related to The Policy Circle’s Policy Brief Library
  • Collaborate with Policy Director to draft and update Policy Briefs and other written products for a various audiences
  • Attend/Participate in team meetings (virtual and/or in-person), congressional hearings, and other events related to federal, state, and local policy

Requirements & Preferred Proficiencies:

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to bring clarity to complex topics 
  • Highly efficient in time management and able to meet deadlines under pressure 
  • Ability to collect, synthesize, and process information quickly and with accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree with writing/communications experience or graduate degree 
  • Experience with or knowledge of public policy, economics, or government   
  • Possess a keen interest and curiosity in policy research and analysis affecting Americans
  • Keep up to date on relevant news related to U.S. policy
  • Proficiency with G Suite applications and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Agreement with and enthusiasm for The Policy Circle Mission & Core Values
  • Background check will be required for this position
